I'm a native New Yorker, born and raised in Brooklyn. I received my art and photography training at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design, both in NYC.
In 1974, I opened a commercial photography studio in New York City's Union Square, specializing in still life photography for advertising agencies.
After many years of shooting ads and winning awards for accounts that included Burger King, Coca Cola, General Electric and more, I began asking myself: can I photograph the ubiquitous items in life such as a paper plate, a dried leaf, or a lily with the goal of inspiring a different connection with the viewer? Can I separate the object from its assigned label ... and give it a new life?
For your consideration ... the photographs on this site are the results of that question ...
Collectors and exhibitors of my work have included: Boca Raton Museum, FL; The Osaka Hotel, Japan; The Art Directors Club, NY; The Studio Museum, Harlem NY; Sandy Webster Gallery, PA; former Manhattan Borough President, C. Virginia Fields, and many others.
I now live and work in Connecticut with my lovely wife Katherine, our amazing son Jackson, Marley the dog, and M.J., the family fish.
